JUST FOR KIDS

Hi, kids! Welcome to the Fort Wayne Newspapers Press Project Web site, JUST FOR KIDS. It’s fun, and most of all it’s all for you.

Let me introduce myself. I’m the official MASCOT for the new press that will be printing The News-Sentinel and The Journal Gazette right here in Fort Wayne, Ind. I am called a phoenix. You might have heard about me from Harry Potter. I am a mythical bird that never dies. Some say I represent the ability to look into the future and to collect information about our environment and the events that happen around us. That sounds a lot like a newspaper, which can touch thousands of people every day with news from around the whole world. I also have beautiful colors like the newspapers will have when they are printed on the new press.

Do you know anything about newspapers? If you don’t, then take some time with your parents to go through this Web site and learn about newspapers and the fun things that are in them just for you.
