At the zoo: Indonesian Rain Forest area. Family: Mothers lay seven to 60 eggs in a hollow tree or termite mound. Parents don't raise babies after they hatch, so the babies have to find their own food and shelter. Food: In the wild, deer, pigs and dead animals. At the zoo, mice, rats and rabbits. Fun fact: Gorgon doesn't breathe fire, but her forked tongue helps her smell food. |
