Fort Wayne has the most Burmese refugees in the United States. And many more want to
come. News-Sentinel photojournalist Steve Linsenmayer recently traveled to Burma to
chronicle life under one of the world’s most repressive regimes. He also visited Burmese
refugees in Thailand, where thousands of people wait in line for tickets to freedom. On this

Linsenmayer’s journey to this beautiful but troubled land on the other side of the world.
