Celebrating Cultural Diversity

From Ireland to Africa, almost all cultures of the world have played an important role in building this country, from its beginnings to the most recent date. And learn more about the contributions of Hispanic Americans and cultures from which will be the focal point in many communities, though in all the United States hold Hispanic Heritage Month.

Exploring the history of Hispanic Americans within the nation's history. Discuss some of the many parallels in the history of the United States and for U.S. Hispanics. Two examples: how the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo guaranteed the protection of the Spanish language in the United States and the impact of Cesar Chavez in the national history in defending the rights of laborers.

Many names throughout the country comes from the Spanish language. Invite children to locate some of the most recognizable, such as El Paso, Texas, San Jose, California, and Pueblo, Colorado, as well as other sites in your community.
